29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. On or about July 5, 2023 , during steel erection work on a new commercial building located at 256 Richmond Street, Painesville, OH 44077 the employer did not ensure employees used a fall protection system/device while performing metal deck final attachment work. Employees were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 15.6 feet onto a concrete surface. Capp Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1301245, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/10/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 11731 Mt. Overlook, Cleveland, OH 44120.
