29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(20): When ascending or descending a ladder, the user shall face the ladder. On or about July 26, 2023, employee engaged in residential construction was exposed to a fall hazard for not facing the ladder when descending to a lower level. MTM Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1562113, citation number 01, item number 002 and was affirmed as a final order on April 14, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 13575 Hazelwood St., El Paso, TX 79938.
