29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact. a) On or about 07/26/2023 at 1000 SE 8th St, Hialeah, FL 33010, the employer did not ensure that employees use appropriate eye protection while performing quality control testing of Tank 1 containing Bulk Kleen 690RT a corrosive (with a pH of < 1) and Tank 3 containing E-CLPS 2100HD a corrosive (with a pH of pH 2.1) in the wash area. b) On or about 07/26/2023 at 1000 SE 8th St, Hialeah, FL 33010, the employer did not ensure that Black Stallion GM 1611 welding gloves were maintained in a reliable condition for employees performing welding operations.
