A Framer was working off of a 6 inch wide wooden board on a job made wooden scaffold which exposed the employee to falls of 6 feet 10 inches.

Location at 8403 Cherry Blossom Drive, Pickerington Ohio, 43147 : On or about August 10, 2023, the employer did not ensure the upright members of the makeshift wooden scaffold were all placed on base plates, mud sills, or any other adequate firm foundation. An employee was observed working from a platform of this scaffold that had two upright posts placed on loose gravel and one other upright post that was on a base plate that was not on firm foundation, thereby being exposed to fall hazards of approximately 6 feet 10 inches to the ground below.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):"Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. Exception: When the employer can demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems, the employer shall develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of 1926.502. Note: There is a presumption that it is feasible and will not create a greater hazard to implement at least one of the above-listed fall protection systems. Accordingly, the employer has the burden of establishing that it is appropriate to implement a fall protection plan which complies with 1926.502(k) for a particular workplace situation, in lieu of implementing any of those systems. a. Location at 8403 Cherry Blossom Drive, Pickerington Ohio, 43147: On or about August 10, 2023, the employer failed to ensure that their employees were protected from falling when framing a porch roof of a new build two story single family home. The employees were exposed to a fall of up to approximately 11 feet 10 inches from the roofs edge to the ground below.

29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1):The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a. Location at 8403 Cherry Blossom Drive, Pickerington Ohio, 43147 : On or about August 10, 2023, two employees were observed not wearing proper eye and face protection. One employee was operating a circular saw and the second employee was operating a pneumatic nail gun. Both employees were using these tools approximately 12 inches to 24 inches from their face and eyes during the framing of a two story single family home. Thereby exposing these two employees to struck by hazards to the eyes and face. Paramo Framing LLC was previously cited under the name Paramo Framing for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1593453, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on April 21, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 292 Corday Blvd, Pickerington, Ohio.
