29 CFR 1910.138(a): Appropriate hand protection was not used when employee's hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a) Vane Machine #22: An employee was not using appropriate hand protection while handling galvanize steel with sharp edges. The IE employee sustained a severe laceration, cut tendons and nerves that required surgery. The accident happened on or about 7/13/23.
