29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs, with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems or a combination of warning line system and safety monitoring system. Location: Building roof southeast side of building at 522 American Legion Hwy. Westport, MA 02721 On or about 09/01/2023 employees were exposed to fall hazards of more than 15 ft to the ground below, where a guardrail system or, personal fall arrest system was not in use. GIA Construction Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (name previously cited standard), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1412065, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 10/24/2019, with respect to a workplace located at 507 & 509 Nash Road, New Bedford, MA 02740.
