29 CFR  1910.151(c):Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  a) On or about October 5th, 2023, at the National Weather Service, Electrical Room, there was one portable eyewash bottle, Brand, Bradley with the solution expired since August, 2006, exposing employees to eye injuries.  b) On or about October 5th, 2023, at the National Weather Service, Generator Room, there was one portable eyewash bottle, Brand, unknown with the solution expired since March 2010, exposing employees to eye injuries.   NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for these citations items as required by CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

29 CFR  1910.157(c)(1):Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries:  a) On or about October 5th, 2023, at the National Weather Service, Outdoor Storage Room, a Fire Extinguisher CO2, Brand General, Serial No. unknown and Fire Extinguisher Halon, Brand Sentry, Serial No, unknown, 5 pounds, were placed on the floor, exposing employees to fire hazards and contusions in case of accidental knocking.
