29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)  a) On or about October 10, 2023,  Fort Detrick LRC Building 9200 Heavy Equipment Shop employer failed to perform a hazard assessment for personal protective equipment for employees working on heavy equipment while performing maintenance on the braking system.  In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazardous condition(s)  (a)On or about October 10, 2023,  Fort Detrick LRC Building 9200 Heavy Equipment Shop: employer failed to provide hand protection when employee was adjusting slack adjusters on 2010 Trash Truck.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
