29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Shop Floor, Adjacent to Front Office: On or about October 12, 2023 and times prior, employees utilized a U.S. Industrial Machinery 32120 lathe that was equipped with a chuck guard that contained two cutouts, approximately 5"x6", that would not protect the employees from the hazards of the rotating chuck during operations.
