29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) E6 Rewind Area - On or about 10/21/2023, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards in that, the employer failed to ensure that a method of machine guarding was provided to employees operating E6 Rewind machine when employee's left thumb pinched between steel core and chuck while chuck was in process of closing and causing amputation of left thumb.
