29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Engine Bay: A JET drill press (Serial No. 12061782) was not equipped with a guard at the point of operation. Employees were exposed to flying chips, rotating parts and ingoing nip point hazards. The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1608157, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/09/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 640 S. Main St., P.O. Box 8, LONE PINE, CA 93545. The USDA, Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1604647, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 11/29/2022, with respect to a workplace located 5 Ritter Rd., MAMMOTH LAKES, CA 93546.

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries. Work/ Storage Shed: An Amerex portable fire extinguisher type ABC was not mounted and placed on the floor near the exit. The fire extinguisher was identified by a sign. Employees were exposed to tripping and fall hazards.
