29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about October 30, 2023, guarding was not provided to protect employees from hazards created the by rotating sprockets. The rotating sprocket on the BC-1 conveyor belt line was unguarded. This condition exposed employees to hazards associated with ingoing nip point hazards at the underside of the convoy belt and the sprocket.
