29 CFR  1910.242(b): Effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment was not used when compressed air was used for cleaning purposes and the compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.  a. At the 14055 US Hwy 19 N. Clearwater,  FL:  On or about November 11, 2023, the employer exposed employees to eye hazards, in that, an employee was using a pneumatic gun to blow built-up debris while the stamping machine was running, during which time the compressed air supplied to the pneumatic gun from the air compressor was set to 80 PSI and the air gun was not equipped with a safety tip nozzle nor was effective chip guarding used on the gun therefore exposing the employee to the hazards of the release of the compressed air and flying debris.
