29 CFR 1910.29(b)(3): The employer did not ensure that guardrail systems are capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds (890 N) applied in a downward or outward direction within 2 inches (5 cm) of the top edge, at any point along the top rail: On or about November 7, 2023, the employer did not ensure the guardrail system for air compressor mezzanine was capable of supporting a force of at least 200 pounds without failure. An employee leaned against the guardrail system for the mezzanine and it failed allowing the employee to fall approximately 10 feet to the lower surface.
