29 CFR 1926.1101(d)(2): Asbestos hazards at a multi-employer work site were not abated by the contractor who created or controlled the source of asbestos contamination: a) On or about November 16, 2023, Alliance Environmental Control, Inc., did not abate fireproofing insulation sprayed on structural beams which contained 15% chrysotile asbestos, as identified in the asbestos survey at 2615 Washington St., Waukegan, IL 60085, thereby creating asbestos exposure hazards to all contractors on site, including but not limited to the General Contractor and the demolition contractor. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
