29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: Cleaning and Finishing Area: On or about December 01, 2023, the employer did not provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area. Employees were not provided with information and training on hazardous chemicals used during abrasive blasting operations including, but not limited to, glass oxide used to clean the surface of metal parts and aluminum oxide blast media used to finish the surface of the metal workpieces.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2)(iii): The employer did not provide information to the employees as to the location and availability of the written hazard communication program, and material safety data sheets required by 29 CFR 1910.1200: Cleaning and Finishing Area: On or about December 01, 2023, the employer did not provide information to the employees as to the location and availability of the written hazard communication program, and safety data sheets required by 29 CFR 1910.1200. Safety Data Sheets for the hazardous chemicals used including, but not limited to, glass oxide and aluminum oxide blast media used to clean and finish the surface of metal workpieces blasted, were not made readily available for employees who used the material for abrasive blasting.
