29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1): Space about electric equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained about all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment. Sufficient access and working space was not provided and maintained about electric equipment as required. Located in the dirty cage wash room, two optional standby emergency safety shutoff switches were obstructed by stacks of animal cages, exposing employees to electrical hazards.

29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(ii): Where there was a defect or evidence of damage that could expose an employee to injury, the defective or damaged item was not removed from service until the repairs and tests necessary to render the electric equipment safe had been made: Building 50: One fan with a missing ground pin on the attachment plug was available for use. Building 710: One fan with a missing ground pin and corrosion was available for use in the dirty cage wash room. Employees were exposed to electrical hazards that can lead to shock.
