29 CFR 1910.178(m)(5)(iii):Powered industrial truck(s), when the operator of an industrial truck is dismounted and within 25 ft. of the truck still in his view, the load engaging means shall be fully lowered, controls neutralized, and the brakes set to prevent movement: (a) LEGS work area: On or about December 6, 2023, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to struck-by hazards, in that an employee used a forklift to suspend a vending machine in the air, dismounted the lift, and performed tack welding repairs on the equipment.
