29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazards created by rotating parts, and/or flying chips and sparks:  At the shop area, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards in that the machine guarding was not provided for the following instances: 1) Powermatic drill press model number 1150, with serial number 315506 near the lathe area 2) Bridgeport Series I with serial number 1232812 near the lathe area 3) Central Machinery bench drill press with serial number 366851537 near the lathe area 4) Two (2) Southwest heavy duty drill presses, with model number SDS-12-5 were identified next to the CNC area

29 CFR  1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met.  At the shop, employees engaged in chemical handling activities are exposed to health hazards in that a written hazard communication program does not include information related to labels and other forms of warning, safety data sheets,  list of the hazardous chemicals known to be present  and  methods the employer will use to inform employees of the hazards of non-routine tasks. Employees uses chemicals such as, but not limited to: Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), oil and coolant which can be irritating, flammable and can cause harmed if inhaled or swallowed.
