29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about, January 1, 2024, the employer did not ensure that guarding was provided to protect employees from hazards created by the rotating parts of two Grizzly G7943 Bench Model Drill Presses. This condition exposed employees to struck-by injuries when operating the drill press.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 P.S.I.: (a) On or about January 4th, 2024, the employer did not ensure the compressed air nozzles used for cleaning off equipment in the facility were reduced to less than 30 PSI. The compressed air line was pressurized at approximately 54 P.S.I.. This condition exposed employees using the air hoses to the hazard of an embolism in the blood stream and flying debris.
