29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At a commercial worksite located at 7510 N Oak Tfwy, KC MO -- employees engaged in finishing deck trim/flashing were wearing a harness and had a lanyard connected to the harness. However, the lanyard was not connected to anything and was being dragged on the deck. This exposed employees to fall hazards in excess of 10 feet to ground level. This was documented on or about 1/4/24. Godard & Sons Roofing Co., Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1636437, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/27/22, with respect to a workplace located at 1400 Round Tripper Dr, Parkville MO.
