29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used, when necessary, whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: a. On or about 11 January 2024, at piers, St. Croix Yacht Club, St. Croix, VI. Employees engaged in maintenance and fuel dispensing operations at the marina, had been working without approved life vests so as to protect them from injury. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance. Please disregard the abatement date.

29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: a. On or about 11 January 2024, at the kitchen room, St. Croix Yacht Club, St. Croix, VI. Employees were exposed to fire hazards while performing cooking operations on a working area where the fire extinguisher was not mounted, in case of a fire event. NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
