29 CFR  1910.147(f)(1)(ii):When lockout or tagout devices temporarily were removed from the energy isolating device and the machine or equipment was energized to test or position the machine, the employees were not removed from the machine or equipment area in accordance to the paragraph (e)(2);   On or about February 13, 2024: employees engaged in the testing of the UV Coater machine located at 6009 Stertzer Rd, Jefferson City, Missouri; were exposed to nip point and point of operation hazards in that the employer failed to develop and implement safeguarding measures when removing isolation devices or conducting procedures that are necessary to test the machine. This was most recently evident in the incident in which an employees finger came into contact with unguarded gears when conducting  maintenance testing on the machine to find the source of an abnormal noise.
