29 CFR  1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.  In the saw shop, a drill press did not have a chuck guard in place. Employees were exposed to point of operation and flying debris hazards.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1470401, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on May 26, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 19777 Greenley Road, Sonora, Ca 95370.

29 CFR  1910.212(b):  Machines designed for a fixed location were not securely anchored to prevent walking or moving.  In the saw shop, the drill press was not anchored. Employees were exposed to crushing hazards caused by falling machinery.  The U.S. Department of Agriculture was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.212(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1478849, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on October 21, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 1711 South Main Street, Yreka, Ca 96097.

29 CFR  1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled equipment was not installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling.  Instance #1 - In the mail area of the Cache B5 building, 3 power strips were found daisy chained together. Instance #2 - In the Overflow 2 Warehouse, a power strip was found powering a washer and dryer.   In both instances, employees are exposed to electrical and fire hazards.  The Department of Agriculture was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1465113, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 30, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 6101 Airport Rd, Redding, Ca 96099

On February 20, 2024, the United States Forest service site, located at 6101 Airport Road, Redding, California 96099, did not have the annual Injury and Illness Summary (OSHA form 300A), posted for the previous year(2023).
