29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion: a) On or about March 12, 2024, employees processing veal in the "harvest area" were not protected from severe cuts or lacerations while using a knife/de-hider during the "trimming" process. The employer did not ensure that appropriate hand protection was worn when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from severe cuts or lacerations. Employees in the harvest area were using latex gloves without Whizard Defender 7 cut resistant gloves being worn underneath.
