29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2): Portable fire extinguishers were not visually inspected at least monthly: On or about March 28, 2024, and at times prior thereto, U S Forest Service, Sisters Ranger District employees were exposed to occupational injury and illness when their employer failed to ensure that portable fire extinguishers were visually inspected at least once a month in the following work areas: (a) Main Office/Admin Building (b) Multi Purpose Building The US Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.157(e)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1702562, citation number2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/29/2023, with respect to a workplace located at High Cascades Ranger District, 800 Lauriel Avenue, Butte Falls, OR. The Forest Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(e)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1594183, notice number 1, item number 1a and was affirmed as a final order on8/18/2022, with respect to a workplace located at Forest Service, Parkdale Work Center.
