29 CFR 1910.252(b)(2)(iii): Workers and other persons adjacent to the welding area were not required to wear appropriate goggles, to protect them from the rays when noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields were not used. On or about 4/3/2024, Kupferer Brothers Ornamental Iron Works, Inc. facility located at 8701 Grant Road, in St. Louis, Missouri, did not ensure the welders contained the welding activity inside the welding curtain or shield thus exposing other workers who were in the adjacent perimeter, to be exposed to the radiation rays produced by the welding arc and were not protected from the rays by noncombustible or flameproof screens or shields or required to wear appropriate goggles.
