29 CFR 1910.134(h)(1)(i): Respirators issued for the exclusive use of an employee were not cleaned and disinfected as often as necessary to be maintained in a sanitary condition:  (a) Welding area - On or about May 6, 2024, the employer did not ensure that a welding employee was cleaning and disinfecting their company-issued 3M elastomeric respirator. The employee was required to don the respirator when welding aluminum bronze and the interior of the respirator was contaminated with welding particulate.  Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

The respirator was stored on a workbench in the welding area and welding particulate was on the surface and interior of the respirator mask.   Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
