29 CFR 1910.1025(c)(1): Employee(s) were exposed to lead at concentrations greater than fifty micrograms per cubic meter of air averaged over an eight-hour period: (a) On August 19, 2024, an employee engaged in furnace maintenance operations was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 73.4 ug/m3 for lead, approximately 1.5 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ug/m3. The exposure level was derived from a sample collected over a 461 minute sampling period, with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period of 19 minutes. (b) On August 19, 2024, an employee engaged in furnace maintenance operations was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) of 52.1 ug/m3 for lead, approximately 1.04 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ug/m3. The exposure level was derived from a sample collected over a 462 minute sampling period, with zero exposure assumed for the unsampled period of 18 minutes.

29 CFR 1910.1025(d)(6)(iii): Where the initial monitoring revealed that employee exposure to lead was above the permissible exposure limit, monitoring was not repeated at least quarterly and continued at the required frequency until at least two consecutive measurements taken at least 7 days apart were below the PEL and at or above the action level: (a) On or about May 10, 2024, the employer did not perform air sampling quarterly (every 3 months) when employee exposure to airborne concentrations of lead was above the PEL during scheduled furnace maintenance operations.

29 CFR 1910.1025(i)(3)(i): The employer shall assure that employees who work in areas where their airborne exposure to lead is above the PEL, without regard to the use of respirators, shower at the end of the work shift. (a) On or about May 16th, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the furnace maintenance employees that are exposed to levels of lead above the PEL took showers at the end of their work shift.
