29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about May 15, 2024, on the facility floor, where employees used a Baileigh Industrial Gear Drive Drill Press, Model DP-1000G, whose rotating chuck was not guarded when drilling holes in angle iron. b) On or about May 15, 2024, on the facility floor, where employees used a Wellsaw, Model 1270, Metal Cutting Bandsaw, whose rotating blade was not adequately guarded when cutting metal pipes and tubing. Chart Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1690659, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on January 23, 2024, with respect to a workplace located at 5615 South 129th East Avenue, Tulsa, OK 74134.
