29 CFR  1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  On or about May 21, 2024, electrical equipment such as relocatable power tap (RPT) and extension cord were used in place of fixed firing to provide power to various appliances and computer equipment, exposing employees to electrical and fire hazards as follows:   a. At the 11th floor, financial group department area. A seven-outlet relocatable ACE power tap/power strip surge protector (15-amp) was used to provide power to a Midea HS-160R compact refrigerator (8-amp) and a Ninja Coffee Bar appliance (13 amp). The Ninja appliance was series-connected to the power strip with an electrical cord.   b. At the 11th floor, SA office area. Two (2) relocatable power taps (RPT); Efi Electronics and Tripp-Lite were series connected with an APC battery backup (XS 1500) to provide power to various computer and office equipment such as a Fellowes 99Ci paper shredder.   NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented for both instances by the compliance safety and health officer within 24 hours of the inspection.
