29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. (a) Jobsite at 450 S. Sleight Street, Naperville, IL 60540 - On or about June 13, 2024, an employee using a pneumatic nail gun did not wear safety glasses, thereby exposing the employee to the hazards associated with eye injuries. St. Andrews Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1535959, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 21, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 1607 Moran Drive, Shorewood, IL 60404. Abatement documentation is not required of this item.

Sleight Street, Naperville, IL 60540 - On or about June 13, 2024, an employee performing residential framing tasks was standing on a 4-foot stepladder placed next to a wall opening nine (9.0) feet above the next lower level. The employer did not ensure that the adjustable guardrail installed to the wall opening was in an effective down position or that the employee was wearing personal fall protection, thereby exposing the employee to fall hazards. St. Andrews Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1535959, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 21, 2021, with respect to a jobsite located at 1607 Moran Drive, Shorewood, IL 60404.
