29 CFR 1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tankcars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks were not in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965, which is incorporated by reference as specified in CFR 1910.6: a) Maintenance Area, Appliance Repair Area: On or about June 12th, 2024, the employer failed to ensure that nitrogen gas cylinders were properly secured. Employees working in both the maintenance and appliance repair areas were not protected from struck by hazards from approximately nine (9) nitrogen gas cylinders that were not secured to an adjacent wall to prevent the cylinders from falling and becoming projectiles.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by: a) Maintenance Area, Carpentry Shop: On or about June 12th, 2024, a Powermatic 1HP, 115/230V TEFC, 18" V.S. Floor Drill Press, Model No.2800 was not equipped with an adequate guard, exposing employees to hazards created by rotating parts, reciprocating motion and significant amounts of heat that can cause skin burns, flying sparks, and fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1): Non-working portion(s) of the blade of a vertical bandsaw were not enclosed or guarded: a) Maintenance Area, Carpentry Shop: On or about June 12th, 2024, a DELTA vertical band saw did not have an adequate blade guard installed to enclose, or guard, all portions of the saw blade, exposing employees to hazards created by contact with the fast-moving blade that can cause deep lacerations, eyes injuries from flying debris, and amputations.
