29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: a) On or about June 13, 2024, atop of the roof structure, where employees were engaged in steel erection activities greater than 15 feet without a fall protection system. The Vital Steel Erectors, Inc. was previously cited for this violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1454760, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on February 13, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 4001 Wildcat Dr., Corpus Christi, TX 78410.
