29 CFR 1910.1450(e)(3)(i): Standard operating procedures relevant to safety and health considerations to be followed when laboratory work involves the use of hazardous chemicals; A) In the IR-4 laboratory employees were using reagent grade dichloromethane (Methylene Chloride) to create solutions for laboratory procedures. The employer did not have a standard operating procedure addressing the hazards of handling methylene chloride, or of potential overexposure to airborne concentrations above the action level (12.5 ppm) or the permissible exposure limit. (25 ppm)
