29 CFR  1910.134(e)(1):The employer did not provide a medical evaluation to determine the employee's ability to use a respirator, before the employee was fit tested or required to use the respirator in the workplace:   a.) York-Seaway Industrial Products, 9843 Martin Ave, Lake City, PA 16423, on or about June, 27th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Employees voluntarily wore half-mask elastomeric respirators (Gerson 9250 half mask silicone with P100 filters) during grinding tasks in the Wash Area. Employees were not provided with a medical evaluation for respirator use prior to the use of the half-mask elastomeric respirators.   ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).  This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

York-Seaway Industrial Products, 9843 Martin Ave, Lake City, PA 16423, on or about June, 27th, 2024 and times prior thereto: Employees worked with and around corrosive chemicals including, but not limited to, Anti-Rust 156 and Signal Wash 801 in the wash area.  The emergency eyewash/shower station (plumbed) was not in compliance with ANSI/ISEA 358.1 for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment in that:     1.    Consistent weekly visual inspections of the eyewash station and shower were not conducted.  2.    The emergency eyewash unit was not activated weekly to verify proper operation.  ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below).
