Where mechanical handling equipment is used, sufficient safe clearances shall be allowed for aisles, at loading docks, through doorways and wherever turns or passage must be made. Aisles and passageways shall be kept clear and in good repair, with no obstruction across or in aisles that could create a hazard. Permanent aisles and passageways shall be appropriately marked.  a) On or before 8/19/2024 the employer did not ensure that at the locking dock where mechanical equipment such as the Nissan forklift (model # MCU1F2A25LV) forklift utilized to move a load measuring 84" had sufficient safe clearance when pedestrians and the forklift were in the area at the same time, there was no appropriately marked passageways exposing employees to struck-by hazards in the warehouse at the loading dock.
