29 CFR 1926.501(a)(2):The employer did not determine if the walking/working surfaces on which its employees were to work on, had the strength and structure integrity to support employees safely: a) On or about September 14th, 2024, and at times prior, 3 employees were exposed to fall hazards of 10 feet 2 inches to the ground below, while performing roofing operations on a detached garage that did not have the structural integrity to support the employees and materials safely. The roof of the detached garage collapsed while employees were working on it, causing 3 employees to fall to the ground below. The employer did not determine if the walking/working surfaces on which the subcontractors were to work had the strength and structural integrity to support them safely.
