29 CFR  1926.502(d)(11): Lifelines were not protected against being cut or abraded:   a - Building 3 - The Roosevelt, Mount Laurel NJ:   A worker was exposed to fall hazards, of 9 feet 1 inch and in excess of 22 feet 7 inches., assisting with the installation of floor joists, and performing other related activities, while working and walking from the unprotected edges of exterior wall top plates while wearing a full body harness whose connected lanyard was not protected from being cut or damaged. Condition observed on or about 10/16/24.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR  1926.502(d)(16): Personal fall arrest systems, when stopping a fall, shall be rigged such that an employee can neither free fall more than 6 feet (1.8 m), nor contact any lower level:   a - Building 3 - The Roosevelt, Mount Laurel NJ:   A worker assisting with the installation of floor joists, and performing other related activities, while working and walking from the unprotected edges of exterior wall top plates, was not protected from falling while wearing a full body harness whose connected, extended, lanyard's length would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, this worker was exposed to fall hazards of 9 feet 1 inch and in excess of 22 feet 7 inches. Condition observed on or about 10/16/24.  b - Building 3 - The Roosevelt, Mount Laurel NJ:   A worker assisting with the installation of floor joists, and performing other related activites while working and walking from the unprotected edges of exterior wall top plates,  was not protected from falling while wearing a full body harness whose connected, extended,  lanyard was improperly anchored and therefore would not have stopped them from contacting a lower level.  As such, this worker was exposed to fall hazards of 9 feet 1 inch and in excess of 22 feet 7 inches. Condition observed on or about 10/16/24.  NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.
