29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii): Special handtools for placing and removing material shall be such as to permit easy handling of material without the operator placing a hand in the danger zone. Such tools shall not be in lieu of other guarding required by this section, but can only be used to supplement protection provided: On or about 19 October, 2024, and at times prior there to, employees utilized vertical band saw to cut meat without using push tools to prevent their hands from entering the danger zone. The HEB, LP was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(3)(iii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1675629, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 2 January 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 1630 Spencer Highway, South Houston, In Harris County TX 77587.
