29 CFR 1926.1153(c)(1): For each employee engaged in a task identified on Table 1, the employer did not fully and properly implement the engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection specified for the task on Table 1. a. On or about October 3, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were using portable handheld power saws to cut concrete masonry units that contained silica. The employer did not implement engineering controls, such as using an integrated water delivery system to minimize dust exposure, thereby exposing employees to hazards associated with respirable crystalline silica.
