29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a- 580 Route 70, Lakewood NJ: Workers were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 40 feet to the ground below, when walking and working from a commercial structure's exterior wall top plates and within the roof trusses without fall protection. Condition observed on or about 11/13/24. a- 580 Route 70, Lakewood NJ: A worker was exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 25 feet to the concrete flooring below, when walking and working at and near unprotected edges of the structure's interior, second floor, walking/working surface without fall protection. Condition observed on or about 11/13/24. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
