29 CFR 1910.147(c)(2)(ii):If an energy isolating device is capable of being locked out, the employer's energy control program under paragraph (c)(1) of this section shall utilize a lock out device, unless the employer can demonstrate that the tag out system will provide full employee protection as set forth in paragraph (c)(3) of this section. a) Jobsite - On or about November 8, the employer did not ensure that the Peddinghouse Company equipment that was placed out of order was locked out although it was capable of it, and used a tag instead, exposing employees to amputation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Jobsite - On or about November 8, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the Cole Tuve press brake had an effective guard to prevent employees from reaching into the machine, exposing employees to amputation hazards. Industrial Steel Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA Inspection #1654343, Citation 1, Item 3, issued on July 17, 2023, concerning a workplace located at 821 Highway 475 in Pearl, MS which became a final order on August 2, 2023.
