29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i):Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more were not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or by any of the means identified in paragraphs (A), (B), (C), and (D) of 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): a) On or about November 15, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, San Juan District Office - Conference Room: an electrical outlet, labeled PS CTK 23, a knockout was not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. b) On or about November 15, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, San Juan District Office - Laboratory Director's Office: an electrical outlet, labeled PA CTK 21, a knockout was not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. c) On or about November 15, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, San Juan District Office - Program Support Specialist's Desk Office: an electrical outlet was not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. d) On or about November 15, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - Fire Suppression Room: an LP junction with energized cables was not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. e) On or about November 15, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - Fire Suppression Room: an electrical outlet had a knockout that was not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. f) On or about November 27, 2024, at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, San Juan District Office - Laboratory: three electrical outlets, labeled EI-2 Bench 3D, EI-4 Bench 2B and EI-4 Bench 4B, knockouts were not covered, exposing live electrical parts, and exposing employees to electrical hazards. NOTE: Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for all instances of this citation item as required by CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
