29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) On or about November 30, 2024, employees working on and around the Pack Line #5 in the Packaging Department, were exposed to lacerations and amputation hazards. The employer did not ensure the Dorner Mfg. Top Conveyor (Model No. 32MT5M14-0391R1A0101VA-03 & Serial No. 732146-3-1-1) was properly guarded. Employees were able to reach into and contact the bottom portion of the conveyor belt, exposing the employee(s) to an in-going nip point.
