29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes:  At test rooms 1 and 2, employees engaged in aircraft engine calibration and testing activities are exposed to chemical hazards. Employees utilize calibration fluid, MIL PRF-7024 Type II and according to the Safety Data Sheets, this can cause irritation, or minor reversible injuries are possible. Safety Data Sheets also indicates to wear suitable gloves as part as the exposure controls under Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The employer did not select and require appropriate hand protection to protect employees from accidental skin contact with the chemical.
