29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a)Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. at 1400 North Weber Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57103: On or about at times prior to December 5, 2024, the employer did not ensure that the top inlet port on the Q-Pump, SN P100364, MDL: QP1-030-1.5-OSP-BW-MV located in the Edible Rendering (5-8B) room, was adequately guarded. This condition exposed an employee to caught-in and amputation hazards.
