Guards shall be affixed to the machine where possible and secured elsewhere if for any reason attachment to the machine is not possible. The guard shall be such that it does not offer an accident hazard in itself.   (a)Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. at 1400 North Weber Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57103: On or about at times prior to February 27, 2025, the employer did not ensure that the guard covering the Sealing Station located on the RapidPac 6 -Pump, SN 855275, MDL: RP-55 located in the Smoked Meats area, was effectively secured to the machine and not easily defeated.  This condition exposed an employee to caught-in and amputation hazards.
