29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about November 26, 2024, employees of Briggs & Stratton located at 781 Highway 142 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, were working on cylinder transfer line #2. The employer did not ensure the guard designed to cover the breather reed drill motor, was installed. Employees were exposed to ingoing nip points from the rotating belt and pulleys.
