29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles:  a) At 160 Stone Crab Circle Lot 2, Savannah GA 31408: On December 17, 2024, the employer exposed employees to struck by hazards in that the use of provided eye protection was not enforced for employees performing framing work using pneumatic nail guns.  Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1678782, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on August 29, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 556 Governor Treutlen Circle, Pooler, GA 31322  Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1635368, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 3, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 66 Saussy Road, Port Wentworth, GA 31407.

Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b):  a) At 160 Stone Crab Circle Lot 2, Savannah GA 31408: On December 17, 2024, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards in that, the use of fall protection was not enforced for employees performing framing work at a height of 20 feet.   Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1740139, citation number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 7, 2024 with respect to a workplace located at Lot 106 Guana Lane, Savannah, GA 31421.556  Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1740142, citation number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on November 7, 2024 with respect to a workplace located at Lot 108 Guana Lane, Savannah, GA 31421.556  Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1678782, citation number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on August 7, 2023 with respect to a workplace located at 556 Governor Treutlen Circle, Pooler, GA 31322,  Mejia Construction, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR  1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1635368, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 3, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 66 Saussy Road, Port Wentworth, GA 31407.

29 CFR  1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access.  a) At 160 Stone Crab Circle Lot 2, Savannah GA 31408: On December 17, 2024, the employer exposed employees to fall hazards in that, employees used 2 portable ladders to access the roof , measured at 20 feet from the ground level, of a residential home being framed, that did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface.
